Tribute to Emmy Winehouse

In the concert programme “A Tribute to Amy Winehouse”, vocalist and author of the idea Marija Valmiera, together with an experienced line-up of musicians, will revive the legendary Amy Winehouse songs – “Back to Black”, “Rehab”, “Valerie”, “Love is a Losing Game”, “You Know I’m no Good” and other compositions that showcase her musical style and influence on contemporary music.

Marija’s vocal timbre is often compared to Amy’s own unmistakable sound. Through her charisma and exceptional vocal artistry, she not only honours Amy’s extraordinary talent but also celebrates the universal power of music that can transcend generations and cultures.

She will be joined on stage by a vibrant line-up of musicians: keyboardist Toms Mikāls, drummer Artūrs Strautmanis, bassist Toms Valmiers, guitarist Jānis Kalniņš, brass players Reinis Puriņš, Kristaps Lubovs and Toms Rudzinskis, together with backing vocalists Monta Kurme and Māra Vidiņa. Charismatic Miķelis Putniņš will join as a guest soloist, performing Amy Winehouse’s most famous duet songs.

Amy Winehouse remains one of the brightest icons of popular music of the 21st century – her unique vocal style, deeply personal lyrics and fusion of soul, jazz and pop music established her as a unique phenomenon in the history of music. The album “Back to Black” (2006) became a global phenomenon earning her five Grammy Awards.
