Riga’s 825th Birthday celebration restaurant “Open a Window to Riga” invites visitors to experience one of the central gastronomic events of Riga’s 825th anniversary year. For two days, the area around the Opera Square will be transformed into an elegant open-air restaurant, where Riga’s restaurants, bars, live music, and the iconic “Vecrīga” cake meet to create a vibrant summer celebration. The event’s leitmotif, “Open a Window to Riga!“, encourages visitors to discover the city through its flavours, music, architecture, and the joy of being together.

On August 14, from 12:00 to 23:00, the Riga Restaurant and Bar Zone will be open, inviting visitors to enjoy a special gastronomic offer created exclusively for the holiday. From 17:00 to 23:00, the festive atmosphere will be enhanced by a diverse musical program featuring DJ Monsta and Ieva Šablovska, the string quartet “Sponte”, the electronic music duo ELPO, and DJ Rolling Dynamite, while from 22:00 to 23:00 guests will be captivated by Rihards Zaļupe’s musical journey

On August 15, guests can enjoy a selection of Riga’s restaurants and bars, a diverse musical programme, creative interpretations of the beloved “Vecrīga” cake, activities and special surprises from the Latvian National Opera and Ballet throughout the day. As evening falls and the festive lights illuminate Opera Square, the venue will transform into a lively summer birthday celebration, where conversations, music, and the city’s historic architecture in the background create an unforgettable atmosphere.

The day’s musical programme features performances by Vadims Dmitrijevs & Jānis Pastars Jazz Duo, DJ Jazzy Marky, and Toms Rudzinskis Jazz Trio, followed by a performance from the band “Jaunība” from 10:00 PM. Restaurants such as “Osta”, wine bar “Garāža”, “B bārs”, “Ferma”, “Trīs pavāru restorāns”, “Entresol”, and others will treat visitors to special offers on both days. The event program will be hosted by actor Igors Šelegovskis.
