Street Music and Mime Festival

On August 15, Old Riga will transform into a vibrant European cultural space where two ancient European traditions — street music and mime — will meet. Such a cultural symbiosis is a rare phenomenon in contemporary Europe, while Riga, as a historic Hanseatic city, provides a particularly fitting setting for preserving and developing these traditions.

From 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the squares and streets of Old Riga will resonate with jazz, Dixieland, classical music and percussion performances, while pantomime, clowning and Butō movement theatre will animate the urban environment.

The event will culminate in a dynamic flashmob-style performance in Town Hall Square, where music, dance and performance art will merge into a single energetic spectacle.
