Riga Welcomes Friends

On Riga’s Birthday, Vērmanes Garden will transform into an international meeting place where traditions, cultural diversity, and the joy of being together create a truly festive atmosphere.

From 12:00 to 18:00, representatives of foreign embassies and Riga’s twin cities will share their stories and cultural heritage. The participation of Latvian cities and regions will add a special dimension to the event, creating a celebration of friendship, cooperation, and mutual understanding.

Throughout the day:

Musical performances on the main stage featuring concert programmes by international guests
Book fair with new publications and activities for children
Information tents of foreign embassies, presentations by twin cities, regions of Latvia
A unique Sailing Ship Carousel designed by Ivars Mailītis for the little ones
Activities by the International Contemporary Circus and Street Art Festival RE RĪGA

Meanwhile, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the stage at Vērmanes Garden will be filled with a summery, romantic, and cheerful atmosphere. The evening concert programme will feature beloved Latvian and international popular melodies, inviting everyone to sing along and enjoy a shared evening of dancing in the festive spirit of Riga.
