Opening event of the Traditional Culture and Crafts Center “ĪRGA”
Riga is creating a new cultural space where traditional culture, craftsmanship, Livonian heritage, modern technologies, and contemporary cultural experiences come together.
In Livonian, Īrga means “Beginning.” The opening of the centre therefore marks not only the launch of a new cultural venue, but also a symbolic return to the foundations of Riga — craftsmanship, seasonal traditions, songs, dances, and the spirit of togetherness.
